Behind Soulfull Things People, Passions, and Products

Updated: Nov 5, 2019

We wanted to share a little bit about ourselves, each of our products, and how and why we chose to have them available to our customers.

Soulfull Things spent months searching far and wide to find the perfect Fair-Trade boutiques that either provide handmade or ethically sourced products. Our hearts were set on dainty, gold jewelry, that can be worn day or night in a unique variety of options. However, those weren't our only requirements nor desires. We wanted the jewelry and all the products we would be providing to be handmade, Fair-Trade and ethically sourced. Obviously great quality was a definite, a woman owned business AND made in the USA was hitting the jackpot.

Our search came to a screeching halt when we came across C Dahl Jewelry. This adorable shop is owned by a couple of women in Newport Beach, California. These women create beautiful necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, anklets, hair clips and more! All of these pieces are handmade with the best quality gold and an insane amount of talent. All jewelry is either solid gold, gold-filled or gold filled with gold plated components.

C Dahl actually wrote a blog about the difference between gold- filled and gold plated jewelry. Owner and creator Cami from D Dahl explains that gold-filled contains more gold. See link below for more information on the differences:

The gold filled jewelry made by C Dahl that we offer on our website is extremely durable and will not wear off, or flake. Over a long period of time, some oils from your skin may cause the gold to slightly wear, however, it can be easily cleaned with gentle dish soap and warm water and polished with the C Dahl recommended 'Sunshine' Brand polishing cloths.

A little bit about the other products we offer....

All of our embroidered and rattan bags, clutches, and home decor items are handmade using ethically sourced materials from a few wonderful and unique Fair-Trade boutiques based out of Indonesia and Thailand. We are very determined to only purchase our products from men and women who who are being fairly compensated for their talented work in a safe environment.

The Soulfull Things's women have a passion for a unique style that gives us an outlet to express our colorful and eclectic taste in women's accessories and home decor. A house is not a home unless you make it your own, with your own distinct style and Feng shu. That is why we are driven to search and collect several different products that help us create a magical space where we live and help up us express ourselves with what we wear. We are fond believers in all things hand crafted and one of a kind.

Soulfull Things started with four women. One mother, and three sisters. One day, one of us created a beautiful dream catcher and we were all astonished of literally how "dreamy" it came out. Shortly after, the middle sister Wendy, learned the knots of macrame art. The seventies style art that involves weaving and knotting rope that produces a beautiful, vintage, modern day boho style that we have absolutely fallen in love with. We were all took back and all around impressed not only by how quickly she learned this technique, but how detailed and talented she was in creating the most intricate, large, and immaculate pieces. Since then, she has been named "Soulfull Thing's Fiber Artist" and has created several enormous pieces for a local restaurant chain in our area "Avocado Grill" located in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Along with hundreds of custom orders, that include wedding decor, such as table runners, ceremony arch decor, "his and hers" chair decor, & so much more.

Sure, now you can purchase a macrame piece on Amazon or at Home Goods for slightly less, but are they really one of a kind? Are they all ethically sourced and Fair- Trade products? Will they incorporate sentimental belongings or materials into the piece that makes it 100% original and custom-made? There really is no comparison to the quality and detail of Soulfull Things macrame, decor, and art to what you may get at a large department store. Several of our macrame pieces are mounted on local drift wood that we have hand picked on our home town beach in Jupiter, Florida. Wendy then treats each piece to ensure they are all sanitized, smooth and ready to be the anchor for all the woven rope. We always encourage ourselves and others to support artists of any kind, small businesses, women, men, and children, of all ages, races, genders, etc.

"Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers – especially in the South.
"It proves that greater justice in world trade is possible".
"It highlights the need for change in the rules and practice of conventional trade and shows how a successful business can also put people first".
"It is a tangible contribution to the fight against poverty, climate change and economic crisis".

After a few years of Soulfull Things creating special pieces for individuals homes, children's nurserys, special events, weddings, and gifts, specializing in macrame pieces and dream catchers, we decided to launch a new and exciting venture.
